The Practice works with a small group of key casual employees and colleagues to help with specific projects as required. This may range from draftspersons and building designers through to specialist consultants and architects.

Andrew Watson

B Arch MA (York) AIA

Practice Director is a registered architect with over 20 years’ experience in commercial and residential developments, town planning, conservation and refurbishment of historic and existing buildings.

Andrew has been a member of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) since 1995 and a member of the Qld AIA Sustainability Committee since 2006, learning about and helping to support, advocate and promote Sustainable Design.

He has specialist qualifications in architectural conservation from the Institute of Advanced Architectural Studies, at the University of York. He has been a board member of The National Trust of Queensland and is a member of Australia ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites).

He has worked for large commercial architectural practices as well as for the Brisbane City Council as an architectural assessor, town planner and heritage architect.

He established Watson Architects in 2007 to focus on three principal areas of interest in architecture:

  • Architectural design
  • Environmentally sustainable design (ESD)
  • Conservation (Heritage building issues and adaptive re-use)
